History
Bickford Construction Corporation began operations in Vermont in 1999 and is owned and operated by Bob Bickford.
After graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University in 1982, Bob worked for Exxon Company, USA for a couple of years and then moved to Florida with his wife, Kristine, in 1984. Bob and Kris spent the next 12 years on the southeast coast of Florida, the last seven of which Bob owned and operated Bickford Construction Corporation in Palm Beach Gardens. During that time, Bob built a niche of doing high-end residential projects in the towns of Palm Beach and Manalapan.
In 1996, Bob and Kris decided to move back home to Vermont to raise their three daughters. After spending a few years working for a commercial contractor as a project manager, in 1999 Bob decided it was time to go back out on his own, and started up Bickford Construction Corporation in Williston, Vermont.
Over the past decade, Bickford Construction has built over 125 homes mostly in Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties. Bob Bickford oversees general operations of the company and manages all custom home, renovation and commercial projects. Bob also has general oversight of our construction management projects. Bob is joined in the office by Glenn Macy, who manages the day-to-day operations on the construction management projects. Bob and Glenn are assisted by Melynda Pouliot who works in the office with them.
The field operations on our custom home and renovation projects are supervised by Dave St.Hilaire. Dave has been with Bickford Construction Corp. since 2001.
The field operations of our construction management projects are supervised by Todd Lamos. On these projects we provide project management, supervision and miscellaneous labor. All direct labor on the project management projects is performed by subcontractors.
At Bickford Construction Corporation, we take quality very seriously and follow strict standards for both material selection and installation.
We also take safety very seriously. We are going on our seventh year straight without an injury, which is something we are very proud of.
Many homes built by Bickford Construction Corporation have won awards from the Home Builders and Remodeler’s Association of Northern Vermont. Most recently in 2008, a home that we built on the shore of Lake Champlain in Colchester was recognized as the Best Luxury Home – Cost over $1,000,000. Bickford Construction was also awarded the Builder of the Year Award in 2006.
Most of all, we are proud of the relationships that we have formed with our customers over the years, and are thankful everyday for the opportunities they have given to us.
